Meet Chris & Jill

We started Upshot NZ Ltd in 2014 with the goal of helping small businesses succeed. With over 30 years of industry experience respectively, we're experts at working alongside small business owners to assist with accounts, bookkeeping, payroll, health and safety, and much more.

We like to say, "do what you do best, and we'll do the rest". It's about saving you time, money, and stress, unburdening you of your paperwork, making sure your accounts are in order, and helping your business run smoothly and successfully.

Our team is made up of contractors, meaning they have the experience and know-how when it comes to running a business. They work from the Upshot office as well as from home, with flexible working hours - so they're available when you need them!

We're true-blue Kiwis with a love of the great outdoors that's only matched by our love of our kids and grandkids.

Jill Fryer

Jill Fryer

Co-Director

Jill started her own business, A&F Services in 2011, which was later renamed to Upshot NZ Ltd when Chris joined as Co-Director in 2014. Her industry backgrounds are manufacturing, forestry, logging, concrete masonry, ready mixed concrete, trades, rental and in fact most Small – Medium Enterprises.

Chris Fryer

Chris Fryer

Co-Director

Chris joined Jill in 2014 when they established their company Upshot NZ Ltd. He has managed small and large businesses in various industries including concrete masonry, precast concrete, ready mix concrete, building materials, IT software, road transport and logistics, industry training (ITO).

He has also managed health and safety on large sites plus assisted many small business owners with their health and safety requirements.

Roxanne Fox

Roxanne Fox

2IC

Roxanne started at Upshot in July 2017  as an accounting technician. She has a wealth of knowledge in Xero and all facets of bookkeeping and accounting. Roxanne’s industry backgrounds are trades, motels, manufacturing, real estate, rental properties and retail services.

Lois Fryer

Accounting Technician

Lois joined Upshot in April 2021 and has a wealth of knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting. Her industry backgrounds include agriculture and transport.

Nadine Loots

Nadine Loots

Accounting Technician

Nadine started contracting to Upshot in June 2021. She has over 10 years of office experience including Payroll, Debtors, Creditors and Bank Reconciliations. She also has experience in different accounting software.

Rachel Kilgour

Rachel Kilgour

Accounting Technician

Rachel started contracting to Upshot in September 2019 as an accounting technician. She has a wide range of accounting software experience covering all levels of bookkeeping and accounting. Rachel’s industry backgrounds are manufacturing (horticultural and clothing) retail, wholesale and service industries.

Clare O’Kane

Claire started at Upshot in June 2023. She has over 33 years of experience working in accounts for various industries including, Nursing and Care homes, Veterinary services, Chartered Accountants.

Sarah Hunt

Administrator

Sarah joined Upshot on 31st July 2023 as an Administrator. Her key roles are business administration and new client on-boarding processing. Her industry background includes Kitchen manufacture and installation, Scaffolding, and associated building sub trades.
